Jake Songer has been a dedicated member of the Napa community for over 35 years and has witnessed firsthand the devastation that wildfires can bring to homes and landscapes. His deep-rooted understanding of fire prevention and property protection comes from years of hands-on experience in both firefighting and construction.
His career began at just 16 years old as an Explorer Scout with the American Canyon Fire Protection District, later working for the City of American Canyon’s Parks Department. With 14 years of wildland firefighter training, Jake went on to serve as a Helitack aerial firefighter for CDF (Cal Fire), gaining invaluable expertise in wildfire suppression and prevention.
Now a licensed general contractor in the state of California, Jake operates J.S. Construction Services, bringing extensive knowledge in building, renovations, custom decks, fencing, plumbing, electric, and landscaping. As a skilled tree climber, he specializes in tree removals, fine pruning, and estate land maintenance—essential services for wildfire defense.
As an on-site project manager, Jake ensures that every wildfire defense project is executed with precision, meeting the highest standards for fire safety and property protection. His unique blend of firefighting expertise and construction experience makes him a trusted partner in safeguarding Napa properties from wildfire risks using a carefully excecuted mix of defensible space and home hardening.
